Associate Pastor leading to Senior Pastor after apprenticeship

Seeking an Associate Pastor to begin a path to become (after a reasonable time of apprenticeship) the Senior Pastor of a non-denominational (formerly Baptist) church in a suburban northeastern part of New Jersey (Essex County).

Average Current Worship Attendance = 135-165 adults [there is a separate Spanish-speaking worship service in our united church family]

Here are our hoped-for criteria:

·        Possessing a shepherd’s heart and a desire to serve, this pastor’s calling would include connecting and serving with a wide variety of age groups and possessing the warmth and flexibility to empower others as leaders and as siblings in Christ. As a Christ-centered, Spirit-led, Bible church, our goal is to spread the Gospel and have our congregation steadily growing in faith, deepening our devotion to Scripture, and serving as a beacon of hope and love in our community.

We are looking for the following 10 Ministry specialties in a pastor:

·        Bible Teaching

·        Pastoral Care

·        Church Growth

·        Leadership/Vision-Casting

·        Family-oriented Ministry

·        Evangelism and Community Involvement

·        Pastoral Counseling

·        Worship Interaction

·        Management of Staff

Qualification

·        College degree required, plus an M.Div. degree from accredited Seminary preferred, but not necessarily an unwaivable requirement, plus significant pastoral and preaching experience.
