Associate Pastor

MINISTRY DESCRIPTION:

Lakewood Baptist Church is seeking an Associate Pastor to serve our church body by leading our Senior Adult Ministry and assisting with pastoral care. This position includes, but is not limited to, pastoral care, teaching in various seasonal Bible studies, and general shepherding of Lakewood’s members and visitors. This role is a pastoral position and requires meeting the biblical qualifications of a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7.

The Associate Pastor will work under the direction of the Executive Pastor and provide leadership to our Senior Adult members and attendees, oversee pastoral care needs of the church, and lead our Homebound and Bereavement ministries. This role will also assist in planning and officiating funeral services alongside the Executive Pastor and Senior Pastor, and in planning strategic events throughout the year, including special events, monthly luncheons, Senior Adult VBS, and special trips. Lakewood has a well-established Senior Adult population, and we are seeking someone with a passion for the Lord who relates well to adults and families of all ages.

• A bachelor’s degree required

• Seminary training (master’s degree) preferred
