Part-time Music Leader for Worship services

Overview

The Elizabethtown, PA Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, averaging around 200 in weekly attendance, is seeking a passionate part-time worship music leader to inspire and lead our worship service musical team, including developing the musicians and worship tech team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence worship services positively while working with church staff and volunteers.

This vital role involves coordinating and conducting praise and worship music during church services, fostering a vibrant spiritual atmosphere through musical excellence and leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a love of a variety of Chrisitan genres, leadership skills, musical talent, and a commitment to nurturing musical talent from within the church community.

Weekly responsibilities

• Platform set-up
• With Lead Pastor, select songs for services
• Schedule musicians and tech team
• Lead mid-week rehearsal and Sunday platform ministry with music and prayer
• Ensure quality God-honoring music is produced for services
• Lead and conduct praise and worship sessions during weekly church services

Other

• Review technology; make suggestions for improvement
• Familiarity with Planning Center helpful
• 8-15 hours per week. Lead from the platform 3-4 times per month
• Demonstrable experience leading live music with a band is desirable.
• Preference is leading while playing an instrument
• Ability to read music is a plus but may not be required
• Good communication skills necessary
• Reports to the Lead Pastor

The church has been meeting for ~70 years. Folks of a variety of ages, from nursery age to seniors, call the Alliance Church home. Music is generally a hymn per week and two or three contemporary Christian tunes or choruses.
