Position Overview:
We’re looking for a man with a clear call from God to plant and lead a new church in the Linden community
in the city of Columbus, Ohio. This is a full-time role with New Albany Presbyterian Church (EPC), in
partnership with the Presbytery of the Alleghenies. You’ll be trained, coached, and supported as you gather
people, start ministries, and shepherd a new gospel-centered congregation.
This role requires a man who can see and share a vision for what God is doing—and then roll up their
sleeves to help make it happen.
Position Qualifications - The right candidate will:
● Feel strongly called to plant and lead a church in the Linden community, and be aligned with the
values and beliefs of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC).
● Have the ability to cast a vision people can rally around—and also put the day-to-day steps in place
to move it forward.
● Be a gifted communicator, both in preaching and teaching, who connects with people from all walks
of life.
● Be able to build and lead teams, raising up volunteers and leaders to share the work of ministry.
● Have real ministry experience (with adults, kids, and/or community outreach) and a track record of
leading people, not just participating.
● Have the drive and creativity to start new things and see them through.
● Be ready to learn, take coaching, and grow through EPC’s church planting training and residency
process.
● Bring strong relational skills, humility, and perseverance to serve a diverse, urban neighborhood.
● Have a heart that’s ready to pursue planting in hard places – a commitment to under-resourced
communities that look completely different from traditional suburban planting contexts.
Education & Ministry Experience
● College degree (Ministry degree preferred)
● +5 years of ministry leadership experience - you should already be committed to a life in ministry,
not just testing it out. This may include Church ministry, Young Life, Cru, Youth for Christ, etc.
● A willingness to pursue continuing education (up to an M.Div.) is encouraged.
Ordination & Support
● Teaching Elder ordination, or Commissioned Pastor track, is preferred but not required; ordination
can be pursued while planting.
● Bi-vocational flexibility (raising support or supplementing income) may be helpful in the early
years.
Job Type:
Full-Time
Benefits:
● Working in a spiritual setting for the Glory of God
● Salary commensurate with experience, from $60,000 to $80,000 annually
● Retirement contribution match of up to 3% of salary
● Health insurance coverage support
● Coaching and mentorship for continuing education
