Position: Pastor – full-time

Snook Brethren Church is an active congregation situated in the rural community of Snook, Texas, approximately 12 miles from Texas A&M University, College Station. We seek a dedicated pastor to provide spiritual leadership, compassionate care, and steadfast commitment to both our church and the greater community. The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

• The ability to preach the Gospel and shepherd the spiritual growth of the congregation

• Expertise in Christian counseling, care, and guidance

• A strong witness for Christ within the church and broader community

• A commitment to nurturing our relationship with Christ and expanding our outreach efforts in our growing community.

Primary Responsibilities of Pastor

• Direct, coordinate, and lead weekly and special worship services, including order of worship, music selection, and administration of Sacraments in accordance with the practices and customs of the Unity of the Brethren.

• Provide support to Christian Ministry, Mission, and Education programs

o Lead regularly scheduled bible study, regular attendance of Sunday School, and provide Christian guidance to the Sunday School Program and the Youth Director.

o Provide attention and support for the congregations' ministries and work to develop new ministries.

• Pastoral Care

o Pastoral visits to new and existing members, individuals who are critically ill, and relatives and families of members.

o Officiate weddings, funerals, and other rites and functions of the church as needed.

o Offer counseling to church members and their families regarding religious, personal, and crisis-related issues, grief, and adjustment concerns

• Church Administration

o Attend monthly meetings of the Church Board of Elders, providing spiritual guidance in administrative and operational matters.

o Provide support to various organizations of the congregation, including Brethren Youth Fellowship, Christian Sisters, Men’s Fellowship, and Senior Fellowship.

• Engage actively in the community, such as participation in Ministerial Alliance, civic organizations, and representing the congregation at community activities and events.

• Perform other duties as requested by the Snook Brethren Board of Elders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of religious doctrines, practices, and denominations, as well as familiarity with professional literature and resources

• Competence in music instruction, religious and crisis counseling, and proficiency with computers and relevant software

• Ability to manage scheduling, program coordination, record maintenance, and effective communication

• Demonstrated empathy, approachability, and open communication skills

Education, Experience & Qualifications

• Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary (Unity of the Brethren-approved) and ordained into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament.

or

Bachelor's degree with ongoing pursuit of a Master of Divinity and intent for ordination, or undergoing non-traditional training with the approval of the Unity of the Brethren.

• Experience in church-related work.

• Willingness to reside near the Snook Community.

Compensation Package

• Salary based on experience.
