Position Overview

Koinonia Church is seeking a passionate and talented Part-Time Worship Leader to serve at our newly opening Selma campus. This individual will be the primary worship leader for Koinonia Selma, creating an environment where congregants encounter God through authentic, Spirit-led worship. Working collaboratively with both the Creative Director and Worship Coordinator, this role will also contribute to leadership development initiatives across both campuses.

Key Responsibilities

Worship Leadership

• Lead weekly worship services at Koinonia Selma campus with excellence and authenticity
• Plan and execute worship sets that align with sermon themes and the spiritual direction of the church
• Create an atmosphere conducive to corporate worship and encountering God's presence
• Develop and maintain a consistent worship culture reflective of Koinonia's mission and values

Team Development & Collaboration

• Recruit, develop, and schedule volunteer worship team members
• Provide ongoing training, encouragement, and spiritual mentorship to team members
• Participate in cross-campus leadership development processes and initiatives
• Collaborate with the Creative Director on overall worship vision and creative execution
• Work closely with the Worship Coordinator to ensure consistency and excellence across both campuses

Planning & Administration

• Coordinate weekly rehearsals with worship team members
• Communicate song selections and arrangements to team in advance
• Maintain worship planning software and coordinate with tech team
• Assist with special services, events, and seasonal celebrations as needed
• Participate in regular staff meetings and planning sessions

Qualifications

Required

• Demonstrable passion for Jesus Christ and commitment to personal spiritual growth
• Strong vocal and/or instrumental skills with ability to lead from platform
• Experience leading worship in a church or ministry setting
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Theological alignment with Koinonia Church's statement of faith

Preferred

• 2+ years of worship leading experience
• Experience developing and mentoring volunteer teams
• Proficiency in Planning Center Online or similar worship planning software
• Understanding of sound equipment and basic technical needs
• Multi-campus church experience

Time Commitment

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 15-20 hours per week, including:

• Sunday morning services and preparation
• Weekly team rehearsals (typically mid-week)
• Planning meetings with Creative Director and Worship Coordinator
• Leadership development activities
• Special events and services as scheduled

Compensation

Competitive part-time salary commensurate with experience
