Children / Youth Pastor

Position Summary

The Part-Time Youth/Children’s Ministry Director is responsible for leading and developing a gospel-centered ministry for students (elementary, middle, or high school depending on church structure). This role focuses primarily on Sunday worship leadership, relational discipleship, and basic ministry coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sunday Worship Leadership

• Prepare and deliver a biblically sound and age-appropriate message each Sunday
• Plan and lead the weekly youth/children’s worship service
• Coordinate volunteers serving on Sundays
• Create a welcoming and spiritually engaging environment

Estimated weekly time: 5–7 hours

2. Relational Discipleship

• Intentionally build relationships with students
• Meet with 1–2 students per week (as schedule permits)
• Provide basic pastoral care and spiritual encouragement
• Communicate with parents as needed regarding student care and ministry updates

Estimated weekly time: 2–4 hours

Scope & Expectations

This is a part-time position (10–15 hours per week). The role focuses primarily on Sunday ministry and relational discipleship. The Youth/Children’s Director is not expected to:

• Oversee entire church-wide events
• Manage full church administration
• Lead multiple weekly programs beyond agreed schedule
• Function as a full-time pastor

Additional events such as retreats, camps, or special programs will be planned in collaboration with the lead pastor and church leadership.
