Group Home Worker/Direct Care Worker job include
*Creating a therapeutic and structured relationship with At Risk Youth (ages 12-17) who come from juvenile justice and social services systems
*Working alongside a team to help implement the treatment plans of youth who are chemically dependent, sexually exploited and/or behaviorally/emotionally disturbed
*Providing daily supervision, transportation, recreational activities, and in-home management of up to six adolescents.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
*Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance as required by Title XXII licensing regulations
*Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with at least 5 years driving experience and no more than 2 points on driving record
*One of the following is REQUIRED:
Bachelor Degree (preference given to a social science major)
valid Child Development Teaching Permit
completed 12 semester units Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster/Kinship Care Education AND100 hours experience working with youth
valid CAADAC certificate or similar AND100 hours experience working with youth
valid Vocational Training certificate demonstrating that you instruct children in vocational skills AND100 hours experience working with youth as a mentor/coach
previously employed full-time at a group home for at least one year.
