About the Camp Ministry
Greenbrier Christian Retreat exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and provide life-changing Christian camp and retreat experiences for youth, families, and churches. The Camp serves as an extension of the Church’s mission to make disciples and strengthen the Body of Christ through outdoor ministry.
Position Overview
The Camp Director reports to the Board of Greenbrier Christian Retreat. The next Camp Director will build upon a legacy of ministry impact while positioning the Camp for continued growth and generational influence.
The Camp Director serves as the spiritual and operational leader of Greenbrier Christian Retreat. This individual will provide Christ-centered leadership, vision, and oversight for all camp programs, staff, facilities, and financial stewardship. The Camp Director will ensure that every aspect of camp life reflects Biblical values.
Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
- Model a vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Cultivate a Christ-centered culture among staff and campers
- Ensure all programs reflect Biblical teaching and discipleship values
- Assist the Board of Greenbrier Christian Retreat in expanding the reach of the ministry by cultivating relationships with other like-minded Churches to support the Camp ministry.
Leadership & Administration
- Oversee daily operations of camp, retreats, and special events
- Recruit, disciple, train, and supervise year-round and seasonal staff
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets
- Implement policies ensuring safety, risk management, and compliance
Facilities & Stewardship
- Oversee maintenance and development of camp property and equipment
- Ensure responsible stewardship of financial and physical resources
Church & Community Engagement
- Serve as liaison to the Board of Greenbrier Christian Retreat
- Build partnerships with Churches, donors, and ministry partners
- Represent the Camp with professionalism and Christlike character
Qualifications
- A committed, born-again believer in Jesus Christ
- Demonstrated spiritual maturity and servant leadership
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in Christian camp, ministry, or nonprofit management
- Strong administrative, financial, and organizational skills

- Able to lead in both high-season intensity and off-season planning
Compensation
- Salary commensurate with experience
