Worship Director

Introduction

The Worship Director is a part-time position responsible for all tasks associated with planning and leading the Sunday worship service and special holiday services (such as Good Friday and Christmas Eve) at Faith Evangelical Free Church (FEFC) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Qualifications

1. Clear testimony of a life that has trusted in and is walking with Jesus Christ.
2. A clear understanding of the theology of worship with a heart to lead people in worship.
3. In agreement with the Evangelical Free Church statement of faith (https://www.efca.org/sof/) and membership acceptance at Faith EFC.
4. Experienced in planning and leading worship.
5. Proficient in singing and playing either the piano (keyboard) or guitar.
6. Excellent relational skills and a positive attitude with the ability to work well with a variety of musicians and skill levels.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Ability to handle administrative responsibilities, including (but not limited to):
9. a. Preparing a quarterly worship team schedule;

b. Preparing a weekly service outline in Word format;

c. Preparing for and conducting a weekly practice;

d. Preparing/updating PowerPoint slides for the service;

e. Ensuring that the worship team equipment is properly set up on Sunday mornings.

f. Researching new songs and sending out for review and approval;

g. Reporting song use to CCLI (as required).

Experience with running a sound board/sound system a plus.

Compensation

This is a part-time position that is paid a weekly salary based on an expected work load of 15 hours per week. The estimated salary is approximately $15,000 per year and may vary based on previous experience and/or increases/decreases of work load.

Welcome! Faith is a neighborhood church. We are also a part of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). This means that while we have a local purpose and passion and ministries, we also are involved in the wider work of God, helping plant new churches to reach people in other parts of Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota with the Rocky Mountain District of the EFCA. As a part of the EFCA, we share in their work both nationally and across the globe, working together with about 1000 other churches to accomplish more than we could ever do on our own.

Our playground, which is available and enjoyed by our neighborhood kids and families, provides a safe place for children to play, reflects our desire for Faith to be a place where folks can come to Exalt (honor with praise) God, Edify (strengthen and encourage) one another and Evangelize (share the good news and love of Jesus) with others.

We are driven by a passion to Exalt God, which is reflected in our worship services. Our music provides us an opportunity to sing to God and remind ourselves of who He is and what He has done for us. Our time spent looking into God’s Word reveals our understanding that the Bible is God’s personal revelation of Himself to us. Through studying the Bible, we can learn about God and come to have a relationship with Him. 

We are passionate about Edifying one another. Growing in our understanding and ability to know and apply the truths of the Bible to our daily lives, being challenged and encouraged by one another and by serving as examples to each other lifts us up and helps us become more like Jesus.
