Faith Covenant Church (FCC) in Westerville, Ohio is seeking a friendly, organized, detail-oriented applicant for the position of Administrative Assistant. This position provides support to pastors and staff in the church office and helps to represent FCC to the congregation members and visitors. Candidate must be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and demonstrate a real love and concern for all people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following list of duties is representative and not comprehensive. The administrative assistant operates and manages the church office including:
· Answers phone calls in the church office
· Reads and responds to church emails
· Assists in planning church events
· Maintains the in-office calendar and keeps staff up-to-date on upcoming events.
· Creates, updates, and helps distribute church event calendar.
· Maintain church directory of current active members – updated annually
· Arranges details for weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other events that require the use of the church building
· Assists finance manager in maintaining office financial records
· Safe Sanctuary orientation for youth and children volunteers
· Assists in maintenance of weekly attendance records
· Compiles and distributes the church Annual Report
· Scheduling vendors for church maintenance tasks as needed
· Monitors and maintains church and office supply inventory and re-orders as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Experience with administrative support in an office setting
· Strong organizational skills
· Clear and effective communication of information to members and visitors
· Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel). Ability to learn and use church management software (Elexio).
· Familiarity with internet technologies (FaceBook, Instagram, etc.), website building a plus
Employment Terms
· Part-time: approximately 20-30 hrs/week
· Flexible hours
· Compensation: dependent on experience
· Majority of the workday is spent in the FCC office
