OVERVIEW & ROLE SUMMARY

The Family & Youth Directors role is to partner with parents to nurture a faith in their family that lasts a lifetime. They not only disciple kids but the parents to disciple their kids. They do this by casting a vision for family ministry to the larger church, overseeing Sunday classrooms from Nursery-5th grade, volunteer teams, curriculum, scheduling regular family events, and supporting families and their kids in the community. Additionally, this happens by integrating the community and the youth through discipleship of students, 6th-12th grade. This role also collaborates with the lead pastor to cultivate a broader church environment that is conducive to reaching youth.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee Family & Kids Ministry

  • Responsible for the overall direction, including but not limited to curriculum, communication, training, and development
  • Oversee systems and streamline how Kids Ministry runs
  • Build and maintain solid communication with parents
  • Nurture, inspire and disciple volunteers or potential volunteers. Build volunteer teams that disciple our kids and encourage parents in their own discipleship at home
  • The goal: Kids Ministry should be the highlight of each kids’ week and a place where volunteers say, “Wow, I’m really making an impact!”
  • Plan and execute 4-8 kid-focused community events and/or workshops to equip our families and reach new ones
  • Oversee KidReach and connect w/ local Elementary schools

Vision for Family & Kids Ministry

  • Equip kids for God’s mission in their schools, families, and communities
  • Equip parents for God’s mission in their families and communities
  • Reach whole families through ministry to the kids 

Disciple Youth

  • Responsible for the overall direction, including but not limited to curriculum, communication, training, and development
  • Build and maintain communication with parents
  • Nurture, inspire, and disciple volunteers or potential volunteers
  • Mentoring students
  • Integrate students into the larger church family (particular emphasis on Sundays)
  • Oversee Youth gatherings on Sundays after service
  • Plan and execute 4-8 outreaches/events geared toward nonbelievers and guests per year
  • Work with Lead pastor to create a church environment where youth are welcomed, taught, equipped, and empowered
  • Start Bible Studies in the local Middle school and High school


Hours: Fulltime

Compensation: $65k, w/ medical, retirement, and vision
