Director of Creative Arts
Hope Fellowship Church is seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Creative Arts to lead our creative team in enhancing the worship experience and expanding our reach within the community. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing creative content that aligns with our church’s vision and mission. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator and visionary leader with expertise in video and content creation, marketing and branding, social media management, photography, graphic design, and volunteer management. This position will report to the Lead Pastor and provide oversight and leadership to multiple volunteers and interns. This individual should be a kingdom-minded servant leader who is content serving in the background and equipping volunteers. This individual will carry many responsibilities and should find joy in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
Essential Job Duties
Video and Content Creation:
- Oversee and participate in producing high-quality video content for worship services, special events, and online platforms, including a weekly announcement video.
- Create engaging and inspirational video stories, testimonies, and promotional materials.
- Edit and publish the sermon on all Hope Fellowship Platforms weekly.
Social Media Management:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the church’s online presence.
- Create, curate, and schedule engaging content across all social media platforms.
- Monitor and respond to social media interactions in a timely and professional manner.
Photography:
- Capture high-quality photos of church events, services, and community activities.
- Maintain an organized photo archive for use in marketing materials and church communications.
- Ensure all visual content reflects the church’s values and aesthetics.
Graphic Design:
- Design visually compelling graphics for sermons, announcements, social media, newsletters, and other church publications.
- Produce print material as requested.
- Maintain and update the church’s website and app with current and engaging content.
Volunteer Management:
- Recruit, train, and oversee a team of creative volunteers, including photographers, videographers, graphic designers, and social media coordinators.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for volunteers.
- Schedule and coordinate volunteer participation in various creative projects and events, including Sunday morning worship services.
- Continuously and actively disciple and develop creative arts volunteers.
- Seek out opportunities for creative arts volunteers to grow in their skills.
General Staff Responsibilities
- Serve on the production leadership team and provide support for special events as needed.
- Represent and advocate for the Creative Arts Department in weekly staff meetings and Sunday Briefings.
- Oversee department budgets and regularly communicate financial needs to the Executive Director of Ministry Services.
- Continuously seek out professional development opportunities.
Expectations
- Be an active participant in sharing the story of Jesus.
- Serve as the Creative Arts point of contact on Sunday Mornings.
- Support the mission and vision of Hope Fellowship and actively participate in carrying the mission forward.
- Participate in the life and activities of Hope Fellowship, including being actively involved in a Connection Group or Home Group.
- Perform all job duties with excellence to the glory of God.
An ideal candidate would:
- Possess a 4-year degree in a closely related field or experience will be considered.
- Volunteer or vocational experience in creative arts.
- Proficiency (or ability to obtain proficiency) in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant software.
- Posses a strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
- Possess excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Possesses a passion for creative storytelling and a heart for ministry.
- Enjoy planning and small details, but appreciate the flexibility of live events and last-minute changes.
- Be willing and able to work with little supervision.
- Be willing and excited to lead the Creative Arts Department to the next level.
Normal Work Schedule:
- Tuesday – Friday: 9am – 4pm
- Sunday: 8am – 12:30pm
