The Position: We are looking for someone who loves Jesus and has received the call to serve students and their families.
The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will enjoy building relationships with middle and high school students and possess the vision and initiative to continue developing means for teens to come to know Jesus and grow in their personal and corporate pursuit of Him. They will have experience communicating and leading up-front in bigger groups as well as facilitating small group discussions. They will have an on-stage leadership aptitude and outgoing personality with a commitment to servant leadership. They will not be afraid on an In-n-Out Burger or a cold Dutch Bros drink with a student.
The Job: To serve as the motivational and creative leader with Crossing Student Ministry (overseeing the middle school and high school ministries), to help students experience and live out The Crossing Church Mission: We exist to help people take their next step with Jesus.
The Return: To be a part of a team committed to the vision and mission of The Crossing Church, developing people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds to be followers of Jesus and world changers.

A number of years ago, Kyle and Kelly felt called by God (no, not some weird audible voice, but a strong, unavoidable tug on the soul) to move from Southern California to North Sacramento. They had a plan, and it changed... multiple times. One thing didn't change though, God never let up on His call and His provision. The home Bible study turned into some small Sunday gatherings that bounced to 8 locations in 11 years before landing where we are today. Even still we are aware that this is not our final location as the Church is not a building but; a community of people. In all of it we have never lost our sense of joy in the journey nor our utter dependence on Jesus.
The Crossing has always been about being an instrument of change in our world and practically serving our community and our world as Jesus demonstrated. We strive to be authentic and present to a world that desperately needs hope. It is in humility that we interact with the valued people God places around us. It is in love that we see any difference come into a life. It is in sacrifice that we have anything of value to bring.
We wish that we could say exactly what is coming next but that would go against the authenticity we value so greatly. One thing we know is that we are committed as a community of believers to go where Jesus leads us and strive to make His name great. We will try many things (failing often), continue to learn (about God, ourselves and others) and laugh a lot (this journey is too good to be boring). It takes a team! The Crossing has a team of leaders, both on stage and behind the scenes, who are passionate about serving the people of The Crossing and the surrounding communities. This dynamic team, led by Lead Pastor Kyle Johnson, is made up of our Church Board , Support and Volunteer Staff as well as our six pastors who serve our three campuses.
