Located in the Dominican Republic, Caribbean Mountain Academy exists to bring lasting hope to families in crisis. CMA allows struggling youth to step away for a time in order to find fresh perspective. The youth experience a new culture, serve in the surrounding impoverished communities, and enjoy beautiful waterfalls, beaches, and mountains. CMA staff support them throughout these new experiences, modeling the love of Christ and showering the students in love and prayer.

Job Description
The Facilities Manager is responsible for oversight and implementation of all facilities at CMA. This includes oversight over volunteers, staff, buildings, properties, vehicles, and IT, as well as special projects for the campus of CMA.
Responsibilities
- Lead the facilities staff (both Dominican or other) in best practices for facilities maintenance and management.
- Directly oversee maintenance staff, structures, properties, vehicles and IT.
- Manage the maintenance budget and ensure that spending falls within that budget.
- Assure proper staffing to cover all maintenance needs depending on seasons.
- Creation and maintenance of a work order spreadsheet or system, and make available to all staff to see requests, scheduled completion dates, and dates completed.
- The proactive creation of an annual Maintenance schedule for all buildings, properties and vehicles, that is consistent with all accrediting bodies such as CONANI, CSI, and COA.
- Maintain a high level of relational and cultural competence in negotiations and interaction with outside vendors for the campus. At times, negotiating for best terms for CMA.
- Communicate and coordinate with the Missions Manager regarding special projects on campus that will involve mission groups.
- Spiritually lead facilities team members during their employment at CMA, this included being a Godly example of Christian living, as well as leading through your actions, words, and interactions with others.
- Spend time in prayer with staff and CMA community leaders to seek God’s leading
- Maintain an awareness of all the programs and services within Crosswinds. Promote unity, teamwork, and oneness of mind consistent with the mission statement
- Provide adequate supervision, leadership, and accountability to each volunteer, intern or employee assigned to the facilities’ aspect of the ministry.
- Ensure that all facilities staff are adequately trained in a timely manner.
Examples of Tasks
- Completion or delegation of timely repairs for work orders.
- Helping to coordinate with Missions a special work project on campus.
- Completing or delegating a monthly vehicle inspection.
- Managing and completing weekly, monthly, or annual task lists for the campus routine maintenance. (water filters cleaned, generator inspections etc)
Minimum Qualifications
- Personal relationship with Christ
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English
- References attesting to lifestyle consistent with Christian faith
- HS Diploma / GED
- At least 21 years of age
- Must pass all background checks
- Exceptional people skills
- Problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree
- Prior experience serving at-risk youth
- Prior construction or maintenance experience, especially in the Dominican Republic
