Pastor

The Village Chapel Executive Committee is seeking a part-time Pastor to lead our non­ denominational ministry for Sunland Village East (SVE) residents and surrounding community. SVE is a 55+ active-adult community in Mesa, south of Baseline on Farnsworth Drive. 

The Village Chapel has been providing weekly worship services since 1990, along with seasonal Bible studies and daily prayer and support for the ill and for those grieving the loss of loved ones. We've had a history of generous giving and support of ministries and charities, by which we help people in need and seek to put broken lives back together. 

We worship every Sunday throughout the year at 9:00 a.m. in the spacious SVE Auditorium. Currently we have about 270 or so attending in-person services. That number will go down as seasonal members depart for the summer. We also offer on-line streaming on our website (www.svechapel.com) now reaching about 140 additional households each week. 

We are a non-denominational ministry that bases its teachings on the Holy Scriptures of the Bible and worship of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our congregation is composed of members who come from a variety of different church affiliations from many different states. Our services are traditional, with congregational singing of familiar hymns almost exclusively from the Hymnal.

We have an Executive Committee that plans and executes the ongoing week-to-week actions and assists the Pastor in the leadership of the Chapel ministry. The Pastor serves the congregation as their spiritual leader, to include leading and teaching the congregation in worship, delivering sermons, overseeing the Worship Staff, conducting memorial services and being available for counseling and spiritual help for people in times of illness or stress.

We would like to interview a semi-retired, or current/past minister that would be interested in serving The Village Chapel as our Pastor on a part-time basis. There is a generous Honorarium pay package. We have a Chapel Prospectus, Guidelines and Pastor’s job description that we will be glad to share with anyone interested.

We are a non-denominational ministry rooted in scripture, serving Sunland Village East and the Mesa community with heartfelt worship and support. The donations we receive from the freewill offering of our congregants is distributed to charities which have been approved by the congregation
