- Be passionate about ministry. We are not looking for someone who simply wants a job; we are looking for someone who wants to fulfill their calling.
- Be a team player. We are looking for someone willing to support other HCC staff members and volunteers in any way possible.
- Be personable. Here at HCC, we are friends with one another. We go out to eat together, we celebrate each other's birthdays, victories, and achievements; we mourn each other’s losses. And we are not afraid to be accountable and transparent with one another. You must be willing to do the same.
- Be organized. This position requires the management of volunteers, the preparation of curriculum, and the organization of certain special events.
- Be a good communicator. We are looking for someone capable of teaching to a classroom full of students, but who is equally capable talking to an individual one-on-one. You must also be willing, if necessary, to preach to the Sunday morning congregation.
- Be teachable. You must be willing to accept constructive criticism when it is warranted, you must be willing to seek out help when you’re over your head, and you must be willing to “speak the truth in love” when necessary.
- Be fiscally responsible. This position requires the creation, the management and the execution of both children’s ministry and youth ministry budgets.
- Be faithful. Attendance of all Sunday and Wednesday services is expected, unless otherwise communicated in advance. Attendance of special, church-wide events, such as Vacation Bible School or Trunk r’ Treat is also required. In addition to regular attendance, you must also be willing to arrive early and stay late, as the circumstances demand.
Qualifications:
· Formal training or a degree is not necessarily required, but it would be preferred. We would also prefer anywhere from 1-3 years’ experience in children’s ministry.
· Computer software experience (such as with Photoshop) would also be a plus.
