Building Manager

Summary: The overall objective of the building coordinator position is to work with the Director of Operations and the church Facility Committee to ensure that our building is maintained in an efficient manner that supports a welcoming environment, that routine maintenance is carried out and to help church leaders understand and craft a plan to tackle facility issues.

Reporting:  This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures maintenance in these primary areas of care: making sure no debris/ snow gathers on the rooftop especially near gutters on both levels,  make sure basement is clear of silk and other debris from drainage channels and window wells to avoid flooding, ensure trash/recycling is placed on curb and bin returned to outdoor storage on trash days, and ensure general cleanliness of building
• Ensures roof, basement and exterior drainage systems are free and clean of debris.
• Maintains, changes batteries and filters in our HVAC system, all lighting in the building, emergency lights, alarm system.
• Works with building committee to complete small repair issues and maintenance issues i.e. pest and rodent controls, small plumbing issues
• Assist church, specifically the operations director and the facility committee, in maintaining  facility maintenance calendar with member/friends’ workdays, coordinating Sunday logistic plan and outside relationships with contractors.

Work Week:  This position is a 5/hr. week position with some flexibility to adjusted work schedule, evening and weekend hours in order to support events and functions with sufficient notice and plan.

Wage: $15/hr.

Probationary Period: Three (3) months initial probation. After the probationary period, the individual will be evaluated annually.  This is an at-will position.  The coordinator can present proposals to the church to address issues that exceed the 5hr/wk. position.
