Children and Youth Pastor

Westview Baptist Church is seeking applicants for the position of Youth Pastor and Student Minister.

Job Description

Classification:

· Pastoral Staff, Full-time

o Shall be directly responsible/accountable to the Senior Pastor.

· Accept duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Senior Pastor

· To build disciples for Christ by helping to develop youth leaders and guide them in their

walk with Christ. The Youth Pastor shall in coordination with Senior Pastor develop, plan, and supervise youth/student activities that can and will exceed the walls of the church in order to reach the community.

· Will work with all age groups of students, from Elementary through High School.

Qualifications:

· Applicant should embody the qualities found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9

· Degree in ministry preferred but absolutely not required

· To be called by God with a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ consistent with a

spiritual and moral lifestyle.

· Must have warm disposition and outgoing personality for application of the ministry.

· Maintain a lifestyle that reflects a strong personal walk with Christ.

· Must reside or be willing to transfer to the Hawkinsville/Pulaski County area.

· Agree with doctrinal position/statement of basic beliefs of Westview Baptist Church.

Responsibilities:

· Perform oversight, planning, and guidance of Student Ministries to include Wednesday Night KIDZ ministries, camps/retreats, mission trips, VBS, etc.

· Plan, develop, and lead Sunday morning children church services

· Shall serve as the leader of the Student Ministry team to include regular team meetings, biblical and student outreach training, and making of disciples’ training.

· Develop and implement strategy for whole-family discipleship.

· Oversee, plan, and implement all student ministry programming, calendar, and budgets.

· Be an active and visible member of the community, attend church and school functions,

· Participate fully as a member of the pastoral/ministry staff and oversee all the ministry

duties in the absence of the Senior Pastor.

· Work in cooperation with other staff, ministry leaders and the body of deacons within the church.
