Worship Director

JOB SUMMARY

The Worship Director will oversee all the details encompassing a worship service, leading people to encounter God through creative and personal praise, worship and prayer.

Restoration Covenant Church was launched in 2011 to be a community of people restored by Jesus to bring hope to the world. Our vision is to join with Jesus in transforming communities through the multiplication of Christ- centered followers, leaders, ministries and churches. As we help people make progress in their faith and share the hope of Jesus through good deeds, good will and good news, we want Jesus to be known and Restoration to be missed if we weren’t here. Restoration gathers in the heart of Burnsville, Minnesota, twenty minutes south of the urban Twin Cities area. This suburb is filled with busy, young and middle-aged families and there are growing populations of working poor, single parents, and ethnic groups.

Reports to: Lead pastor

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Clear testimony of faith in Christ and a vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus
• Enthusiastic support of the vision, mission and values of Restoration Covenant Church and the Evangelical Covenant Church
• Integrity and self-discipline; striving to live a life above reproach as a leader in Christian ministry
• Passion for and ability to usher others into authentic worship through a variety of modern praise and worship music and other creative expressions of praise
• Positive, flexible, energetic, personable, teachable, resourceful, creative, adaptable and a team-player attitude
• Demonstrated organization, administration, and interpersonal skills
• Proven leadership and team building skills, particularly with volunteers
• Genuine interest in people from diverse life stages and an ability and willingness to initiate relationships with them
• Demonstrated excellence as a musician and worship leader
• Skilled in vocal and instrumental direction
• Possess the education and training needed to accomplish the goals of this role
• Proficient with technology used in worship including audio, lighting, video, computer, social media, ProPresenter,
• PlanningCenter and productivity software from Apple and Google

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, organize, implement and evaluate a high-quality worship environment and experience on Sunday mornings and occasional special events during the week using various elements (music, media, art, testimonies, readings, communion, etc.) to engage and inspire people to worship God. (Currently one service with a Thursday evening rehearsal)
• Lead congregation in musical worship.
• Mentor musicians and worship team leaders, both technically and spiritually.
• Develop the ministry leaders and volunteer teams necessary for an effective worship service for a church.
• Work closely with the lead pastor to ensure the worship supports the overall mission of the church.
• Take intentional, appropriate action before, during and after worship services to make people of all ages feel welcome and wanted.
• Be involved in the life of the Restoration community.
• Connect with other worship directors and pastors through the conference and region for support and continued growth.
• Other duties as assigned by the lead pastor.
