Fellowship of Montgomery

Job Description

Fellowship of Montgomery, located in Montgomery, TX, is seeking a full-time Children’s Minister.

The ideal person for this position will be one who is passionate to see children come to know God, connect to God and others, and this person will lead children to grow in their faith as they grow into adults. The duties are as follows:

  • Have a heart for Jesus, the children, their families, and the volunteers.
  • Lead children and their families to follow Jesus.
  • Follow up with people that are interested in volunteering or knowing more about children’s ministry.

  • Supervise paid staff: Preschool Director, Preteen Director, Children's Assistant, Childcare Workers, and volunteers.
  • Pray regularly for the people who serve on your teams.
  • Create systems and events to thank and appreciate volunteers.
  • Promptly follow-up with guests.
  • Provide opportunities for children to serve and share the love of Jesus.

  • Build healthy relationships with other staff and volunteers.
  • Present budget requests each year and oversee spending.
  • Assist other staff in tasks and ministries as assigned, and complete every task on time.
  • Work while you are at work (not on personal tasks or social media).
  • Set specific goals for your area that are measured and evaluated throughout the year.
  • Be involved in missions.
  • Provide helpful resources for parents and families.
  • Continue to learn and improve.
  • Perform general office tasks with the same passion and commitment as your specific ministry tasks.

About Fellowship of Montgomery

About:

Our Purpose: To be a Christ-centered community reaching up to God and reaching out to people.

Our Mission:

We exist to BRING People In, BUILD People Up, and SEND People Out.

Those three words (BRING, BUILD, and SEND) are the guiding forces behind everything we do here at Fellowship of Montgomery. We think about them when we’re planning our music or teaching our little ones. If we neglect any one of these things, we neglect a huge part of the God-glorifying work we’ve been called to do. If we don’t work to BRING people to a faith in Jesus which leads to salvation and eternal life, then we have absolutely failed from the start.

If we don’t BUILD believers up in a practical and powerful understanding of God’s Word, but instead let them wade forever in the kiddie pool of immaturity, then we have failed. If we do not work to SEND our people out to live their faith in a manner that impacts the world around them, then we have failed by creating spiritual couch potatoes who endlessly take in knowledge that will never be put to use for the Kingdom.

We firmly believe that in order to fully live God’s purpose in our church we must BRING people in to know Jesus as Savior and Worship Him as Lord; BUILD people up in their understanding of God’s Word and in relationship to one another; and SEND people out into the world to reveal His love and share the Good News. As a church family, we refuse to leave out the Gospel message of Salvation. We refuse to create a culture where staying immature is acceptable. We refuse to sit around and do nothing, when God has placed us in the midst of those in need.

We invite you to join with us in our purpose. We don’t merely want to be a once a week, hour-long meeting. We want Fellowship of Montgomery to live out it’s purpose and be a powerful movement for Jesus Christ!
