Part Time Youth Ministry Leader

Fountain of Life United Methodist Church is hiring a Youth Ministry Leader. Candidates should love the Lord and kids. The selected candidate will lead, coordinate, and develop the church’s ministry to kids, from PreK to sixth grade. We seek a warm, creative, and energetic leader who can help our children grow in faith.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct spiritual and administrative leadership over all youth programming including activities for kids on Sunday, Kid's Church, Vacation Bible School, and other annual youth events.

• Gather with youth weekly or biweekly to encourage their spiritual growth and walk.

• Enlist, organize, collaborate, coordinate, and train new and existing kids ministry volunteers.

• Implement curriculum for Kid's Church and other Youth Ministry events.

• Provide resources and support to families for spiritual leadership and parenting.

• Plan and implement special family events that also foster opportunities for community outreach.

• Develop and maintain Youth Ministry Budget and attend church meetings, as needed.

• Manage and maintain supplies needed for the Youth Ministry.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Be biblically knowledgeable and have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Experience working with children in an educational or ministry setting.

• Be a self-starter and proactive in fulfilling responsibilities in the Youth Ministry program.

• Be passionate about helping to disciple kids in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Good verbal and written communication are a must.

• Be able to engage, nurture, and build relationships with children and their families.

• Ability to work well with the pastors, laity members, and other staff.

• Possess good computer skills, at a minimum proficiency with Microsoft office applications.

• Required background checks will be conducted prior to employment.

• Must be 21 to apply.

Position Details

• Part Time (20-25 hours per week)

• Schedule will include weekend availability for Sunday Services and special events.

• Monthly Pay: $1,000 - $1,500 depending on qualifications and experience.
