Children’s Ministry Director Job Description

Purpose:

To inspire people to follow Jesus by directing, equipping, and providing leadership for all ministries relating to preschool and elementary-aged children and their parents.

Reports to:

Lead Pastor

Schedule:

Full Time, 40 hours per week

• Experience working with children in a professional setting

• Creative, adaptable, and resourceful

• Ministry experience preferred

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and implement Family Ministry environments (Waumba Land, UpStreet) on a weekly basis – leading through volunteers

• Enlist, equip, and encourage volunteers both personally and professionally

• Evaluate and improve environments on a regular basis

• Ensure that all environments are appealing, engaging, clean, and safe

• Prepare and implement Family Ministry related events including Baby Dedication, JumpStart, KidVenture, and Baptism Bash

• Oversee the promotion and marketing of Children’s Ministry including parent correspondence, printed materials, website, and social media

• Manage a departmental budget

• Partner with parents by equipping them with resources to lead their children at home

• Ensure all volunteers are screened, background checks have been performed, and that safety measures and procedures are in place

• Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
