Bethlehem Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Music Director to lead and coordinate our blended worship ministry, which incorporates both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music. We are blessed with a faithful core of volunteers, and the new director will have the freedom to shape and grow the ministry in line with their gifting and the needs of the church. Whether your strengths lean toward a praise team, a choir, or a combination of both, we are open—as long as the ministry remains Christ-centered and focused on building community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead weekly Sunday worship services in collaboration with the Pastor and church staff.
- Select songs that reflect sound, gospel-centered theology.
- Organize and lead rehearsals for instrumentalists, vocalists, and/or choir members.
- Encourage, mentor, and equip existing volunteers while actively recruiting new team members.
- Cultivate a worship culture that prioritizes congregational participation over performance.
- Coordinate music for special services such as Christmas, Easter, funerals, and revivals.
- Maintain a well-organized library of songs, chord charts, and digital worship tools (e.g., Planning Center or similar).
- Oversee or assist with worship-related communication, including service slides, livestream coordination, website updates, and social media promotion.
Qualifications:
- A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to glorify God through worship.
- Experience leading congregational worship.
- Ability to lead from an instrument (piano or guitar preferred).
- A humble, collaborative spirit with strong relational and communication skills.
- Reliability, preparation, and a commitment to teamwork.
Additional Information:
- This position has the potential to grow into a full-time role.
- Compensation is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
