Accountant

North Way Christian Community is seeking a full-time Accountant for our multi-site church. This position serves on the Finance Team to support the financial and accounting needs through collaboration across multiple teams and departments while also ensuring an environment that empowers and encourages ministry to expand God’s Kingdom. Fundamental qualifications for all applicants include a growing relationship with God, a desire to impact the world with the love and message of Jesus Christ, a discerned calling into this position, and the willingness to regularly attend and participate in North Way worship services and ministry activities. The additional qualifications for this position include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, or related field
• A minimum of 2 years professional accounting or internship experience required, 5+ years preferred
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Prior experience with month-end close processing and financial statement preparation
• Prior experience in non-profit accounting and knowledge of fund accounting preferred
• Proficient with, or ability to quickly learn, Quickbooks or similar general ledger software
• Proficient with, or ability to quickly learn, church management software (database)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong organization skills and ability to monitor work for quality
• Current background checks
