Rock Prairie Baptist Church is searching for a bi-vocational Pastor to join our family. This Pastor will be
committed to;
the inerrancy and authority of the Bible as God’s Word,
proclaiming and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the truths of Scripture,
leading people to trust Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord,
helping believers grow spiritually to be like Christ and live for Christ through study of Scripture,
ministering to the needs of people in the church and community,
looking for opportunities to grow the congregation through evangelism and outreach,
putting God first, family second and the church third, modeling faithful leadership in the home.
Responsibilities of the pastor shall include, but are not necessarily restricted to:
Preparing and delivering sermons and teachings based on biblical scripture.
Conducting Sunday morning and evening worship services and mid-week bible study.
Lead in the observance of the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper and baptism.
Serve as a member of the Church Council in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the overall
ministry of the church.
Providing pastoral care and counseling to congregation members, including ministering in the midst of crises,
for example death, sickness, or other traumatic events of individual lives.
Actively engaging in community outreach and evangelism.
Adhering to the Constitution and Bylaws as adopted by Rock Prairie Baptist Church.
Accountability;
The Pastor serves under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Church body and both provides counsel to and
receives counsel from the Deacons who serve the congregation. The Pastor is expected to conduct himself in
accordance with the biblical requirements of an overseer as referenced in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and I Peter 5:1-
4, and is expected to support and adhere to the RPBC Constitution and Bylaws. The pastor is responsible to God
and to the church for faithfully carrying out this calling and ministry with prayer, conviction, faith, vision, and
humility.
Qualifications:
Called, ordained, and set apart by God to the gospel ministry and committed to living and leading in a manner
as set forth for pastors in Scripture (I Timothy 3:1-7, I Peter 5:1-4, Acts 20:28-32, Titus 1:5-9, I Timothy
5:17).
Education and/or experiences which would qualify a person to pastor a Baptist Church.
Background and credit check, and references required.
Compensation Package:
Salary: To be determined prior to employment, based on experience and needs.
Parsonage home: Included as part of the compensation package for housing.
