Children's Pastor

the Children's pastor will oversee the entire children's ministry from preschoolers to the Sixth grade students. He will also work with the parents of children to assist them in being the primary disciplers of their children. He will administrate, facilitate, and organize the children's ministry. He will work with the Children's ministry team building a ministry plan for the year and recruit the appropriate volunteers to serve in this area of ministry. He will oversee all aspect and be very involved in these areas of ministry: Sunday school, Kids worship, D-Life groups, and Wednesday night bible study group. He will work with volunteers to coordinate VBS and the Summer Camp. He will basically build a wholistic discipleship ministry for the children along with working the Senior Pastor and other staff members to fulfill the Great Commission in conjunction with the mission and vision of HBC.

Highland BC is located in the heart of Hickory, NC, which is on the western part of NC. We are one hour North of Charlotte and one hour east of Asheville. It is a thriving city with a stable population of approximately 42,000, but based on recent demographics there is 160,000 within a ten mile radius of the campus. We are a very evangelistic, Great Commission church thriving to reach our city for Christ! There are many young families with children that we want to reach and disciple them.

Highland has a healthy children's ministry, but there is always room to grow for the Kingdom sake. We have Sunday morning Bible study(Sunday school), Disciple groups (D-Life), and Wednesday night Bible studies for all age groups. We have other opportunities to minister to our children with other ministry events such as weekly Kids Worship, VBS, summer camp, and other special events as well.
