About the First Baptist

First Baptist Church (FBC) of Richmond, Indiana is a gospel-centered body of approximately 200 believers in Jesus who believe deeply in the centrality, inerrancy, and authority of God’s Word. The purpose of our body of believers is to gather and connect regularly with our local covenant community, to honor God in deeds and actions by reaching out to families of all ages, to follow Christ by fulfilling the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations, and to love others by teaching the truths of Scripture inside and outside the walls of our church.

FBC Richmond is a deacon served and congregationally governed church. The congregation is represented by a Board of Managers throughout much of the year, which helps to coordinate and carry out the ministries of the church.

We are currently seeking a lead pastor position. Our goal is to find a pastor who believes in the inerrancy of God’s Word and that all Scripture is God-breathed. He must meet the requirements of a Pastor set forth in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. The ideal candidate will believe strongly in expository preaching and will have the ability to do so with conviction, clarity, and compassion.

FBC, with an available guest apartment, is located near the east side of Richmond nestled in a well- established neighborhood. The 2018 census holds the county population at approximately 66,000 people. Richmond’s population in 2019 was 35,342.
