Children's and Family Pastor

LifeSpring Community Church

Job Description

The Children’s and Family Pastor will report to the Senior Pastor and participate in the pastoral staff team. This full-time role oversees two related teams in the church: 1) the Children’s Ministry Team which currently focuses on a large number of adult and youth volunteers but will eventually include staff members, and 2) the Family Ministry Team which includes the Student Pastor and other adult leaders who help synchronize the church around a master plan to build faith and character in its children.

We are seeking a warm, relational individual who demonstrates proven competency with organization, administration, and leadership development to support continued growth. The Children’s and Family Pastor needs to be a leader of leaders and a “recruiter-equipper” of “disciple-makers” – following Jesus’ model by raising up student and adult volunteers who will disciple children through groups and mentoring relationships. This individual should love and be loved by children, but his / her primary focus is working with adults - casting vision, connecting, equipping, and multiplying leaders.

The role presumes a solid biblical foundation and at least 3-5 years of children’s ministry staff experience in a larger church context. Educationally, we prefer a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in ministry, biblical studies, or a related discipline.

About LifeSpring Community Church

LIFESPRING COMMUNITY is a non-denominational church located in Harrison, Ohio, a city with about 10,000 residents just outside the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The city has experienced a consistent population growth which is evident in the explosion of new residential construction and bursting schools.

LIFESPRING is a growing community of Jesus followers who are joining God in restoring a broken world. We are an innovative church that values both God’s Word and God’s Spirit, using missional (going out) and attractional (people coming) approaches, having local and global impact, and making disciples who make disciples. We are working toward planting churches that plant churches to advance God’s Kingdom. 450+ people of all ages and stages gather in three onsite services (Saturday, 5:30pm and Sunday, 9:30 and 11:15am) and one offsite “Neighborhood Church” each week while outreach and ministry programs take place throughout the week. LIFESPRING Harrison started in 2008 at the William Henry Harrison High School (Harrison, Ohio) as the third site of a multi-site church. The current meeting location, originally a roller rink, was purchased and renovated in 2011. The North College Hill and Harrison locations of LIFESPRING Christian Church became autonomous in 2016 to more effectively reach their communities, and Harrison was renamed LifeSpring Community Christian Church. Our two-year TRANSFORM discipleship journey culminates in 2020 with the construction of an 18,388 square foot facility on the 10 acres of land we own nearby. This "Community Commons" facility will offer a top-notch coffee shop experience that is synced with a free indoor playground, a party room available for group rental, and meeting spaces open to the public. The children’s area will host a top-rated, state-of-the-art, non-denominational Christian early learning center (Lionheart Children's Academy). Our long-range vision is to provide a full-fledged recreational center facility to better serve our community.
