Pastor to Families with Children | Job Description

Children’s Ministry

*You give leadership and direction to the Children’s Ministry (birth-5th grade)

*You recruit and train small group leaders for Sunday programming

*You provide and support a weekly children’s worship service on Sundays concurrent to the morning worship experience

*You provide a mid-week children’s ministry experience as part of the RSBC mid-week programming strategy

*You work as part of the NextGen Ministry Team and synergize efforts within the team

*You provide regular and seasonal (Christmas Eve, Easter Jam, Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat, Summer, etc.) children’s ministry experiences

*You facilitate a summer camp experience as appropriate for the children within your ministry

Families Ministry

*You collaborate with the Groups Pastor and Relational Ministries Pastor to provide an enriching groups ministry experience relevant to the life stage and culture

*You give leadership and direction to the Families with Children Ministry

*You provide fellowship and spiritual growth opportunities for parents of children

*You meet with families with children to connect on a regular basis

*You work both with the staff and volunteers to accomplish necessary tasks

*You provide a Families with Children ministry strategy that is in harmony with the RSBC Mission/Vision

General Duties

*You serve on the Ministry Team and attend all MT functions as assigned

*You serve on the hospital rotation and ‘on call’ team rotation

*You serve as assigned by the NextGen Team Leader

*You adhere to the RSBC Staff Code of Conduct

*You support the RSBC Mission, Vision, Core Values, Tag Line

*You adhere to the guidelines provided in the RSBC Employee Handbook

*You attend HR training, staff retreats, etc. as needed

*You adhere to the RSBC MinistrySafe platform and safety training manuals

*You are in general agreement with the Baptist Faith Message 2000

Christian Stewardship Calling

*You are a follower of Jesus Christ

*You live a godly lifestyle exemplified through personal worship, Bible study, prayer, stewardship, evangelism, and spiritual growth

*You demonstrate observable spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23)

*You maintain a healthy balance between work and home

*You are called into vocational Christian ministry

Licensing/Ordination

*Preferred – candidate has been both licensed and ordained into vocational Christian ministry

*Required – candidate can provide a church that can vouch for candidate’s lifestyle and calling

Education

*Preferred – seminary degree in related field

*Required – college degree

Church Experience

*Preferred – 5+ years on staff in a medium-sized to large church

*Required – 2+ years on staff (or as an intern) in a medium-sized to large church

Pay Scale

*Salary is commensurate with the candidate’s experience and education.

Roswell Street Baptist Church has been sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ for nearly 80 years within the Marietta, Georgia community. We have a rich legacy as a large church that has had local/regional, national and international missional impact. We are transitioning into more of a community/urban church and our goal is to reach beyond the walls of the church and to inspire our church family to serve the community with the Gospel. Pastor Michael Lewis just celebrated his 6th anniversary as our lead pastor. He brings a 'relational ministry approach' to leading the people and believes each member is called to minister and to serve.
