Job Responsibilities (with Percentage of Time)


Writing, Editing, Gathering and Management of Content on Multiple Platforms: 30%


  • Liaise with all ministry departments to support their communication needs. Gather and edit event information, announcements, and updates.
  • Create and publish email newsletters and blog posts.
  • Coordinate with staff on content updates for 4thpres.org and manage content in WordPress. Content includes photos, graphics, and video assets.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director and Fourth’s web developer on implementing new landing pages, new integrations, and other site improvements. Process trouble tickets and correspond with users who submit feedback.
  • Gather, edit, and format content for print pieces such as brochures, flyers, posters, the annual report, handbooks, and more.
  • Learn, follow, and champion Fourth’s style guide and best practices.
  • Coordinate with the Audio-Visual Technician on gathering, preparing, and posting sermon audio and video and other resources.


Social Media: 30%


  • Create and manage a weekly social media content calendar. Source and prepare content and post to Fourth’s channels on a defined schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director and the Communications Committee to create a solid social media strategy. Iterate to improve the strategy over time.
  • Monitor Fourth’s channels to create an aware, responsive presence and to foster positive interaction with followers.Monitor and maintain Fourth’s presence on Google
  • Business, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, and other platforms.
  • Produce quarterly analytics reports that include insights on emerging social media trends.


Print Projects: 30%


  • Work with Fourth staff to anticipate needs and create a peaceable timeline for all print projects.
  • Facilitate the printing of weekly bulletins and other items, often using in-house printers.
  • Gather content from Fourth staff and communicate precise job requirements to graphic designers.
  • Prepare rough design concepts or sketches to help both staff and designers visualize the final product.
  • Maintain positive relationships with designers and help identify new design resources as needed.
  • Anticipate temporary signage needs for events; create and place signage.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director and others on the creation and modification of new and existing signage.


Event Support: 10%


  • Create and manage content for the church’s Distributed Video Display System (displays located in high traffic areas of the facility).
  • Coordinate with staff on audio-visual needs for Sunday services, funerals, weddings, and occasional special events and arrange for coverage by professional and volunteer technicians.
  • Track the weekly flow of events at Fourth and plan ahead for last-minute Communications requests such as temporary signage.

Technical


  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • An intrinsic orientation toward style, grammar, and spelling
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and G-Suite
  • Demonstrated experience in Communications tasks including editing and optimization of visual assets
  • Familiarity and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat), Basecamp, Google Analytics, Keynote, Powerpoint, and Final Cut Pro
