Job Description

Main Objective

Manage Village Chapel communication to create a unified, timely, accurate, and effective communication strategy so that disciples are equipped to reach out and raise up more disciples for Jesus.

 

Communication Strategy

Propose, implement, and manage an overarching communication strategy.


Performance Standards

1.      Develop and maintain a Brand Manual

2.      Develop and administer a Communications Schedule

3.      Develop and administer a Communication Process

a.      Identify methods to communicate

b.      Identify types of communication

c.      Identify the most effective methods to communicate and what methods work best for each type of communication

4.      Develop performance targets for communication and report progress monthly to the Operations Director

5.      Develop methods to measure communication effectiveness

6.      Propose communication processes that improve efficiency and effectiveness, including standard communication templates, for recurring items

7.      Investigate new technology and methods for communication and present any valid opportunities


Ministry Support

Coordinate with ministry team members to effectively communicate ministry items.

 

Performance Standards

1.      Proactively coordinate with ministry team members to receive an upcoming quarterly roster of items to promote, develop, and implement a communication plan

a.      Work with ministry members to determine who, what, when, where, why, and how for each communication

2.      Support communications for, but not limited to, events, serving opportunities, and promotional items

3.      Serve as a provider of promotional, social media, and video content for ministry staff

4.      Create and/or oversee the creation of communication content: print, digital, spoken, social media, and video


Website and App

Manage the Village Chapel website and app.

 

Performance Standards

1.      Propose a web and app strategy that empowers disciple makers to be equipped to move forward in their journey

2.      Maintain most current information, content, and functionality

3.      Continual improvement to the design elements and user interface

4.      Monitor web and app usage and provide quarterly analytics reports

5.      Oversee content creators and posting schedule  

 

Social Media

Manage the Village Chapel social media accounts.

Performance Standards

1.      Propose a social media communication strategy for promotion on specific platforms (i.e. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

2.      Collaborate with team members to communicate across ministry areas

3.      Monitor messaging and comments.

4.      Schedule, post, and create regular social media content on applicable platforms

5.      Continue improvement and exploration of new social media opportunities and platforms

6.      Monitor social media usage and provide quarterly analytics reports

7.      Oversee content creators and posting schedule

 

Expectations

·        Embrace and promote the vision of Discipleship to Village Chapel and beyond.

·        Exemplify servant leadership by actively participating in the staff leadership team.

·        Attend and participate in a LifeGroup and at least one worship service each week.

·        Participate in Worship Host announcements and/or Staff coverage, on a scheduled rotation with other ministry staff.

 

Education/Experience Qualifications

·        A degree or experience in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Experience in ministry is preferred.

·        Demonstrate a Spirit-filled relationship with Christ and exhibit model Christian behavior in both actions and words.

·        Ability to process information and make independent judgments.

·        Excellent interpersonal skills to include:

  •   customer-centered focus

·        Ability to prioritize responsibilities and the needs of others.

·        Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

·        Computer literacy (e-mail; social media; Microsoft Office Suite; web editing).


Reporting Relationships: Operations Director

 

Pay Status: Salary


Employment Status: Full-time


Average Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
