CIA (Christians In Action) Coordinator

CIA Coordinator: This is a full-time, year-round position. The role involves oversight of 5-11 CIA-(Christians In Action) Released Time biblical education programs primarily in the Franklin and Fulton Co. area ministering to middle school students in grades 6-8 and their volunteer teams.

This position recruits, equips, provides administrative support for, and builds relationships with volunteer adult leaders who lead each individual CIA program. They train and work with each program leader helping them develop and run an effective program, and implement a growth strategy to reach more children in the community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Outreach, youth ministry, and volunteer ministry are several key words that describe this position. They work directly with the Associate Director of CIA, and are officed out of Joy El's retreat center offices in Greencastle, PA.

Released Time?

For nearly 50 years Joy El ministries is one of several organizations that has taken advantage of a little known law called "The Released Time Law". Several states including Pennsylvania have this law. Religious organizations are legally allowed to pull children out of school during the school day for religious instruction. At Joy El this looks like us partnering with hundreds of local churches around public schools to conduct released time programs each week in over 30 school districts. It is a unique outreach to elementary and middle school students that serves as a bridge from the public school system to the local church.

Joy El Ministries is a diverse parachurch ministry that desires to provide opportunities for people to experience life-change through personal encounters with God. We are a full service year-round retreat and summer camp center for individuals and other churches and organizations. We focus primarily on student ministry with a high school leadership training program and as a released time bible program organization. We have planted and oversee over 90 released time programs across PA, MD, and WV.
