Job Description:

Chantilly Bible Church is a diverse, multi-cultural family united together in the gospel-love of Jesus Christ. Our heart is to be fully devoted followers of Christ who love God and love others as we proclaim the greatness of Jesus in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.

The Students Ministries Director serves as part of our Family Ministries Team and is responsible for the vision and leadership of discipling our 7th-12th grade students (Powerhouse) in Jesus and providing discipleship resources and support for our parents of teenagers. We are looking for a full-time staff member with a passion for Jesus, God's Word, and equipping students and families for discipleship.

PURPOSE

  • To call our teens towards leadership early by fully finding their identity and purpose in Christ
  • To provide a ministry environment that supports the Biblical principles that are encouraged to be taught in the home.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Christian man of proven spiritual maturity who possesses the character qualities for pastors (I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; I Peter 5:1-4) and has a fervent love for Jesus Christ and His people.
  • Is a member or will become a member of Chantilly Bible Church
  • Committed to God's Word as his standard for teaching, counseling, and leadership. Has the
  • ability to teach the Word in a manner relevant to teens.
  • Ordained as a Pastor, or soon to be a candidate for ordination.
  • Completion of a Bible School/Seminary degree in theology, Bible, or counseling.
  • Passionate about pastoring youth
  • Understanding of the age group and what it takes to reach them for the gospel.
  • Possesses 3-5 years experience in local church youth ministry setting, with a demonstrated record of effective ministry.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to equipping others for the work of ministry and training leaders.
  • Works well with people in team situations.


ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Responsible to the Family Pastor for carrying out duties listed below. Will meet regularly with the Family Pastor and be assisted by the youth ministries assistant to carry out the vision of family ministry and to maintain good accountability of the use of time and resources.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Working with the Family Pastor and coordinating with the family ministry team, provide leadership and administrative oversight over Jr. and Sr. High Ministries (POWERHOUSE) equipping and supporting a vision of family-discipleship that raise up children and parents in fulfilling the biblical calling for spiritual growth in the home.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate all aspects of youth ministry with the family ministry team.
  • Oversee the teaching ministry of the Word of God and its personal application to the youth of Chantilly Bible Church.
  • Oversee a balanced youth ministry to include regular opportunities for worship, fellowship, discipleship, mission and ministry.
  • Identify and equip adult leaders from the membership of Chantilly Bible Church who will assist him in youth ministry.
  • Identify and equip student leaders who can be trained up and assist in ministry.
  • Maintain regular communication with the parents of the youth.
  • Advise youth and their families in areas of Christian growth and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee and administer youth retreats, camps, and ministry opportunities.
  • Encourage youth to be involved in Sunday Worship and other church ministries.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES

As a member of the Pastoral Staff, he shall:

  • Assist in pastoral and other duties as directed by the Family Pastor.
  • Participate in worship services as scheduled.
  • Support the other staff members in special events as they arise
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Executive Pastor
