Associate Pastor Discipleship/Family Minister

The Associate Pastor is one who is gifted and is called to church ministry, loves people, and has a passion for discipleship, outreach, and strengthen the Family both personally and at the ministry level within a multi­ generational congregation setting. He has a passion for the Word of God and desire to proclaim the Word of God with conviction and confidence always moving the congregation towards taking consistent spiritual steps. He has a passion to assimilate the congregation into the body of Christ and produce the fruit to lead to the salvation of others.

Our mission for worship is to continue to develop and produce worship services that enhance the worship experience of all age groups through consistent and diversified blending of both traditional and contemporary music, Bible preaching and teaching, and prayer. Our mission for Sunday School is to challenge all members of First Baptist Church toward continuing spiritual growth and discipleship through Sunday School. Our mission through family ministries is to provide Bible-based discipleship ministries that encourage spiritual growth for all ages, develop healthy Christian family values, enhance marriage relationships, build parenting skills, and interfamily relations. Our mission for youth is to provide ministries that lead youth to become disciples of Jesus Christ, teaching them to follow in His steps, to grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Our mission for children is to provide a place of ministry that introduces children to Jesus and encourages them to grow in Christ and become involved in the life of church. Our mission for evangelism is to faithfully and urgently share the gospel so that the lost will be saved. We try to enhance involvement of members in ministering the Gospel to Marion, Southern Illinois, the nation, and the world.
