ASSOCIATE MINISTER OF RECREATION

SALARY RANGE: 45K-55K (INCLUDING ALL BENEFITS, HEALTH INSURANCE, RETIREMENT,ETC)

General responsibilities of Ministry Staff Members of the Dawson Family of Faith

• A living growing relationship with God through His Son

• Deliberately and intentionally sharing good news of Jesus Christ with the unsaved

• Assimilating guests and new members into the Family of Faith through service

• Developing leadership through ministry and service

• Tithing the income earned from church to the ministry budget of the church.

• Support the vision and mission statements of the church

• Living by guidelines provided in the Dawson Employee Policies Manual.

The Associate Minister of Recreation is responsible to:

• Minister of Recreation

• Evangelism and Missions Pastor

• Executive Pastor

• Senior Pastor

• Personnel Committee

• Church in Business Conference

Qualities/Qualifications needed (in no particular order):

• Be a team player: Become a valuable part of the Recreation Ministry Leadership Team as we plan and administer the Ministry of Recreation

• Communicate effectively: Communicate with the Recreation Ministry Leadership Team, any and all volunteer and paid leaders, and other ministry areas

• Lead others: Provide clear leadership and spiritual discipleship to adult leaders, parents and participants

• Manage Conflict: Willing to manage internal team conflict, and conflict among guests, with a Christ like manner.

• College Degree Pursuing a call to ministry

Duties/responsibilities for this position should involve the following:

• Assume full responsibility for complete supervision of the Family Recreation Center, paid and volunteer staff, programs, interpretation of policies, etc., in the absence of the Minister of Recreation.

• Help give vision and leadership to the overall Recreation Ministry and its staff.

• Specifically give vision, leadership and coordination to the overall outreach/discipleship of all that happens through Recreation Ministry. This includes member engagement, program mission streamlining, partnerships with missions.

• Manage and lead our Front desk workers. (Scheduling, Hiring, Job assignments, follow up, training, continued training, etc.)

• Lead our Front Desk workers in a way in which they are cared for, challenged, and discipled during their time with us.

• Help lead in church-wide activities (e.g. KidLife, Sports Camps, Summer Camps etc.) as requested.

• Contribute to the oversight and expansion of programs in the Recreation Ministry that meet the needs of the church and its outreach to the community. Those programs MAY include: Camp Dawson events, Adventure Recreation, Fitness, Day Camps, Fall Festival, and other programs

• Attend and become actively involved in all Recreation Staff meetings and other meetings as requested

• Assist in court and facility guest management

• Seek to lead, mentor, disciple and equip any Recreation Ministry Interns

• Perform other duties as assigned

Other Areas of Responsibility:

• Know how to use Mindbody operating system for the gym

• Learn how to use Deputy, Slack, Trello, Arena, Planning Center, Quick Scores, ServiceU, and other software used by Dawson Recreation

• Help with the needs of Camp Dawson ropes course and recreation.

• Willingness to clean and take care of the facilities and church vehicles

• Weekly work the front desk to engage and get to know those coming in, and work alongside front desk team.

• Lead small groups and Bible Studies regularly

Hours of Responsibility:

• This is a full-time position and would require 40 hours per week

• These hours are not always set and can/will fluctuate week to week based on activities
