Job Description

PURPOSE of Ridgeline’s Worship Director:

To glorify God by leading Ridgeline’s congregation to worship the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through music and other elements during services, and to encourage the church body toward an attitude and lifestyle of worship.


QUALIFICATIONS:

~ Love for Jesus and a desire to see lives and communities changed by the Gospel.

~ Ability to lead music from the platform with excellence both vocally and instrumentally.

~ Ability to lead in technical aspects of AVL, service production, and team administration.

~ Humility to learn and grow, actively looking for new ideas and strategies to improve our worship ministry.

~ Gift of leadership combined with desire to develop, coach, and empower others in all aspects of worship ministry.

~ Ability to work with and maintain positive relationships with staff, worship team members, our church body, and the community.

~ Ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.

~ Courage to take risks and challenge the congregation to deepen its worship experience and commitment, balanced with humility and willingness to embrace RCC and its mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with the Lead Pastor, plan worship services that convey the Gospel message.
  • Promote an engaging worship atmosphere through song selection and arrangement, service element planning, team preparation, and leading worship by example.
  • Coordinate elements of services and events with the Lead Pastor, staff, ministry leaders, and elders as needed, for both weekly and long-range planning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the volunteer team (instrumental, vocal, and AVL volunteers), shepherding and making sure to provide needed communication, training, guidance, and encouragement.
  • Oversee all areas of production, including audio, lighting, presentation slides and videos, and online presentation.
  • Coordinate resources and personnel for all services and events, and coordinate maintenance of equipment and church-owned instruments.
  • Operate in agreement with the mission, values, and theology of Ridgeline Community Church
  • Report to and be accountable to the Lead Pastor, meeting on a regular basis.

COMPENSATION:

This is currently a part-time position requiring approximately 25 hours per week. Salary will be based on experience and qualifications with opportunity for growth, expected to be within the range of $30,000 to $40,000 yearly.
