Senior Accounting Clerk

SUMMARY

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals. Duties include but are not limited to cash receipts, accounts payable, reconciliations, account analysis, general accounting, contribution statements and audit support.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Familiarity of GAAP and non-profit accounting

• Strong personal computer and business software skills. MS Office proficient, intermediate level Excel required

• Strong data entry skills with a keen eye to detail and accuracy

• Strong problem solving skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when relating with leadership, staff, congregants and vendors

• Pleasant personality and proven ability to interact in a positive manner using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, flexibility and courtesy in gesture and speech

• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work

• Able to work independently and collaboratively

• Able to follow verbal and written instructions

• Excellence in oral and written communications to express your thoughts clearly and concisely

DESCRIPTION

• Adhere to finance policies, systems, procedures, and internal controls

• Counting weekly offerings, scan and record cash receipts for all campuses

• Process AP bills for timely payment. Code, scan, enter transactions in accounting software, print checks, obtain signatures and mail

• Print monthly financial reports to pdfs and email to ministry leaders

• Ensure integrity of financial data when posting transactions and reports within the Sage Intacct accounting software

• When time permits, assist in all areas of accounting, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and database management, as directed

• Handle special projects and assist with annual audit as requested

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred

• Three or more years of accounting experience preferred

SALARY RANGE/HOURLY RATE

$22 to $25 per hour (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

The Bay Church in Concord CA was founded in a storefront in 1931, in what was at that time, the small rural town of Concord, California. The church has experienced much growth over the years and built successive buildings on Galindo Street, Clayton Road, and today our current site on Evora Road.

In 2020, our members and the members from Harvest Time Assembly voted unanimously to merge the two churches. We officially became one church in two locations, and the next chapter of our future is now being created.
