Job Description

Oversight and Training:

 

—Oversee Youth ministries in accordance with the vision of the Church Elders and Lead pastor

—Meet regularly with Associate and Lead Pastor

—Keep in touch with Youth and Youth families throughout the week. (ie if child misses a week or two makes sure someone is calling to see where they are)

—Seek to disciple youth and delegate discipleship to those in the church who are qualified to do so

 

Administration:

 

--Lead weekly student ministry meetings

—Use social media and leverage those technologies to stay in touch with youth and promote programs

—Be proficient or be willing to learn current software programs and systems of the church and implement them in ministry as directed (ie planning center, text in church, pro-presenter).

 

General Youth Ministry 

Cast a vision for youth ministry that is in sync with the vision and values of the overall church

—As time allows aim to build a youth group that feeds into the larger community through community events both in and outside the church

Plan, promote and communicate a calendar of events that complements the overall church calendar and vision.  Do this by working in tandem with the lead pastor, and associate pastor/children’s pastor.

 

Plan weekly “youth group event(s)” that:

—anchor youth in the truths of scripture and help them see how it applies to their lives

—fosters an atmosphere where both parents feel safe bringing their kids

—is a place where youth want to come and invite their friends.


Qualifications

 

Education

--Seminary Degree Preferred

-- 3-5 years experience in church leadership or youth ministry

--Experience in cross cultural ministry preferred

-- Understand and be willing to engage in current events


Beliefs

--Commitment to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith

--Commitment to the historic Christian teachings regarding marriage and sexuality

--Agreement with the doctrinal distinctives of our Church 


Ability and Gifting

-- Gifted teacher with strong with interpersonal skills

-- Able to disciple, mentor, and train staff and volunteers

 

Character

-- Gentle, but willing to speak the truth

-- Humble, teachable, accountable, and willing to grow

-- Must maintain a good moral character and be “above reproach”

About Armenian Christian Fellowship or Orange County

We are a non-denominational Armenian Church in communion with the Armenian Evangelical Church of America.  Though we do not limit our ministry to Armenians, due to our history and background many who attend our church are Armenians.  We are committed to preaching and teaching of God's word, discipleship and loving our community as we follow the lead of Christ.
