Director of Youth Ministries

The Director of Youth Ministries shall be responsible for guiding youth age 6 th grade through High School

in their understanding of their faith and how to be a Christ follower and servant of the Lord. The Youth

Director shall accomplish this through, relationship building, biblical teachings, educational programing

as well as community building. The Youth Director shall be responsible for assembling a team to assist

in this process.

Responsibilities:

The Youth Director shall be a strong leader in the church and the community. Working with young

people and their families in an effort to develop and disciple young people in their faith life. The

following are some of the duties and responsibilities a Youth Director shall be responsible for and

execute:

 Train and recruit volunteers for efficient implementation of youth programming.

 Provide counseling to youth and help them realize and achieve their potential.

 Administer and plan numerous youth programs like evangelism, retreats, fellowship events as

well as servant and mission opportunities.

 Coordinate with parents of youth group members regarding their child’s involvement and

participation in the church.

 Assist in organizing and compiling of Sunday and midweek curriculum.

 Participate and contribute to staff and church meetings.

 Train youth on how to be future faith-filled leaders and develop programs to facilitate spiritual

and personal growth.

 Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders in the community for purposes

of outreach programs.

Qualifications:

 Minimum three years of experience in management of a youth ministry.

 Qualified Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education or other Accredited Education Degree.

 Experience in Leadership and Youth Development.

 Must connect well with teen youth as well as their families.



Ability to work in a team setting and develop volunteer leaders.
