As a new church plant, we (myself and whoever takes on the role as our Worship Director) have the opportunity to build and shape the culture of our new church. We have the chance to build a culture that loves Jesus and loves our community—something our east side community has very little of. We have a great foundation of people who are on fire for Jesus, who love to serve, and who, more than anything, want to see our east side community impacted with the gospel.
We are in search of a worship director who is a musically gifted, spiritually mature believer. Our new Worship Director should possesses a proven track record of biblically based, gospel-centered ministry. This track record can be either in lay ministry or through previous staff ministry experience. The ideal candidate will have experience leading worship in a church context, will demonstrate a healthy leadership ability, and will demonstrate a history of discipling others inside and outside of a worship ministry setting. The worship director will work under the direct supervision of the lead pastor at Mercy Hill Chapel and will conduct all ministry in accordance with Mercy Hill Chapel’s philosophy of ministry.

Mercy Hill Chapel is a brand new church plant on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. By God's grace and provision, Mercy Hill was launched in April 2023 and is steadily growing as our community discovers us as a new church home. Mercy Hill Chapel was launched in partnership with the SEND Network and five other churches, all of which believe as we do that there is still so much gospel work to be done in our community.
Context:
Seated within the crossroads of America, Indianapolis is the 15th largest city in the nation with a population of nearly 900,000. From Indycar racing to basketball to football, Indianapolis is a city steeped in sports culture. People from all over flock to the city for its sports venues and, when they arrive, they discover an unexpectedly comfortable, small-town vibe. Behind the cheers of all the sports fans, however, is the same fallenness endemic to the rest of humanity. Human trafficking, poverty, broken homes, addiction, and political tensions are just a few expressions of the shattered spiritual condition of the people who call Indianapolis home. Spiritual brokenness has led to relational, physical, and social brokenness. These difficult realities, however, give cause to the reason we planted Mercy Hill Chapel in the city.
The east side of Indianpolis is a diverse community spanning across a wide range of social spectrums including age, economics, and ethnicity. It is also densely populated with nearly 78,000 people living within a 3-mile radius of the church. While there is a lot to love about this community, it is a community that lacks vibrant, Bible-believing, gospel-preaching churches. There are just a handful of faithful churches ready to love, serve, and care for our community with the gospel of Jesus.
Our Church:
Mercy Hill Chapel exists to glorify God by transforming lives through the cultivation of gospel-centered community. As a new church plant, we are a growing body of believers and are building a gospel-centered culture into which we can invite our friends, family, and neighbors to experience the grace of Christ. Our Sunday mornings are characterized by dependent prayer, modern worship music that lifts high the name of Jesus, and expository, verse-by-verse preaching through the Bible that points people to Jesus. Energy and excitement is high among all those who are beginning to call Mercy Hill home and we are excited to see what God will continue to do as He grows and develops Mercy Hill as a vibrant kingdom outpost in Indy's east side community.
