Youth Director

We are a vibrant, growing, independent Methodist church looking for an experienced and passionate Youth Director to join our team!

The Youth Director plans and implements creative ministries for students in grades 7-12 such as Sunday school, small groups, student-led worship, mission trips, special events, and service and leadership development opportunities that align with our orthodox theology.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement youth programs.
• Organize and facilitate youth activities.
• Provide guidance to youth in areas such as relationships, spiritual development, and social skills.
• Develop and maintain relationships with youth and their families.
• Maintain records of program activities and participants.
• Ensure compliance with applicable child and youth safety regulations.
• Recruit, train, develop, and direct a team of adult volunteers.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth, a passion for helping them develop as disciples of Jesus Christ, and be energetic, enthusiastic, resilient, outgoing, organized, a great communicator and planner, and be able to clearly articulate their call to youth ministry.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in youth ministry, secondary education, special education, psychology, social work, or a related field
• One year of experience working with this age group (youth ministry/teaching/mentoring preferred)
• Successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check including sex offender registry. (The criminal background check must be completed before an interview will be scheduled.)
