New Providence Presbyterian Church
New Providence Presbyterian Church (NPPC) was formed in 1737 and is a thriving congregation located in the heart of New Providence, New Jersey. NPPC has had a significant impact on the community from the start. In 1759, the church balcony collapsed, and it was considered a miracle that no one was seriously injured in the disaster. The miracle was soon referred to as a divine act of “providence.” The small town thereafter became known as “New Providence." God made an impact on the town in 1759 and is still making an impact today.
NPPC is a multi-generational church that is seeking to help people discover, embrace and share the life-transforming hope of Jesus Christ. One of NPPC's strengths has been the ability to serve the membership and community through vibrant ministries for people. This investment starts with an on-site Preschool and Kindergarten, through a flourishing Children's Ministry and Student Ministry (middle school and high school), adult ministry, outreach ministry, local and international ministry, teaching and small group prayers, and a vibrant music ministry.
Currently, NPPC has 589 members who live in New Providence and many of the surrounding towns. NPPC is a member of the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO). Click here for our beliefs.
