Memorial Presbyterian Church is an active, multigenerational congregation that has been serving the Cherokee community for over 150 years. The congregation is known as a stable and
caring congregation whose beliefs are anchored by Scripture. Its members are recognized in the community for their mission work, both locally and abroad, and have provided leadership for many community causes. Memorial Presbyterian Church is preparing for a new post-Covid chapter of life and ministry. They envision this new chapter maintaining continuity with the congregation’s commitment to local mission and ministry to one another while launching new initiatives which lead to congregational renewal and more effective engagement with the community. The next pastor will play a primary role in writing that chapter by preaching the Word, equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, and shepherding the flock. More specifically, the congregation hopes their next pastor will unify them around a compelling vision for the future and, then, develop strategic initiatives to live into that vision.
