This key leader is responsible for ministering to students from 7th-12th grades and their families.
- Establish personal relationships with young people and their parents through church attendance and leadership, outreach, and other contact.
- Visit and spend time with young people and their parents in their homes and other environments where they gather.
- Meet with, work with, and keep parents informed about student ministry.
- Develop and reach out to prospects.
- Provide for spiritual growth of young people:
- Lead them to know Jesus as their personal savior.
- Lead an organized Wednesday night student worship service.
- Be responsible for Youth Sunday school.
- Promote the total program of the Church.
- Locate and use resources to meet the needs of young people in such areas as spiritual growth, Bible study. . . .
- Work with young people and an adult ministry team to plan and program events and activities providing opportunities for young people to fellowship, grow, and/or minister.
- Research and schedule as needed special events such as camps, conferences, seminars, retreats, lock-ins, trips..
- Research and schedule at least one day activity and/or fellowship per month.
- Offer opportunities to involve young people in missions, community service . . . .
- Develop effective publicity for student ministry.
- Recruit, train, encourage, and support lay people in the various volunteer ministries of working with young people in the congregation.
- Be involved in continuing education to stay informed of new and effective ways to minister.
