Outreach and Missions Pastor

JOB FUNCTION

Lead the church in sharing the gospel locally and globally by developing outreach and mission opportunities. This role focuses on equipping members to serve others, meet tangible needs, and demonstrate Christ’s love in their neighborhoods and beyond.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Outreach

• Plan and oversee local outreach events and initiatives to engage the community, build relationships, and share the gospel in practical and impactful way

• Equip and mobilize the congregation to actively participate in outreach efforts by providing training, resources, and opportunities to serve their local communities

Missions

• Organize and lead mission trips, ensuring proper preparation, training, and follow-up to engage the congregation in hands-on ministry opportunities

• Provide support to the global and local mission partners affiliated with the church, including regular communication, prayer, spiritual care, and crisis assistance

Prayer Ministry

• Lead, oversee, train and recruit members for all Prayer Ministry teams (post-service, healing, personal, email, and mission)

Men’s Events

• Plan and administrate men’s events and gatherings for men to grow in their faith and friendship with one other

Pastoral Care

• Provide care, prayer, and spiritual guidance to individuals and families during times of need such as crisis, grief, illness, and transition

Preach and Teach

• Active member of the preaching team

• Perform all other duties as assigned or apparent

QUALIFICATIONS

• A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ

• Firm rhythm built for personal devotion and time in the Word

• Openness to the power and presence of the Holy Spirit

• Can train equip leaders

• Dependable, detailed, organized, and a good time-manager

• Strong interpersonal, relational, verbal, and written communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and team members

• Strong leadership, administration, and organizational skills

• Seminary/theological training, education, and/or certification
