Make Disciples Pastor

Associate Pastor of Outreach, Missions, and Visitation

Summary: The Make Disciples (MD) Pastor will work with the Lead Pastor (LP) and pastoral team to develop and implement a strategic plan to accomplish objective #3 (Make Disciples) while providing support for objectives #1 (Love God) and #2 (Love Others). This includes but is not limited to development and oversight of all current and future outreach ministries, personal evangelism, evangelism training, missions, counseling, online and in-person church promotion, and visitation. The MD Pastor will be directly accountable to the LP and deacon board.

Objective #1: Love God

·        Actively participate in a weekly worship service

·        Provide pastoral leadership through preaching (1-2x annually), administering ordinances, leading in prayer, Scripture reading, counseling, weddings, and funerals as directed by LP

·        Implement and oversee introductory ministries to CBC and Church Membership classes

·        Oversight, expansion, and improvement of hospitality and first impression team

o  Train, equip, and oversee hospitality team to greet, direct, evangelize, and record

o  Train, equip, and oversee coffee and bagel team to serve, greet, and evangelize

o  Target, engage, record, and follow-up with all visitors

Objective #2: Love Others

·        Leadership Development

o   Identify and develop outreach leaders and workers

o   Institute regular evangelism training program

o   Identify and develop church leaders

·        Visit and counsel individuals under the direction of LP

·        Lead at least one Calvary Lifegroup in coordination with LO

·        Actively participate in all pastoral staff, deacon, and missions committee meetings

Objective #3: Make Disciples

·        Work in conjunction with LP to oversee missions committee

o   Regular contact with missionaries on the field

o   Primary contact with visiting missionaries

o   Oversight of and/or participation in all mission trips

·        Work in conjunction with LP to develop and oversee visitation program

o   Follow-up or visitation of visitors, sick, shut-ins

o   VBS, Awana and Youth families in conjunction with LG and LO

·        Oversight, active participation, and evangelism training of all current and future outreach ministries including but not limited to food pantry, community meals, sports, community events, and other ministries to be implemented as in conjunction with the pastoral team

·        Work with pastoral team to develop, launch, and oversee sustainable outreach ministries

·        Develop and maintain in person and online promotional materials and events

o   In person to include on and off campus events to promote CBC and its ministries

o   Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and other media outlets

Love God, Love Others, & Make Disciples. 

Love God by participating in a worship service.

Love Others by participating in a Calvary Group.

Make Disciples by participating in an outreach ministry and encouraging others to Love God, thereby multiplying disciples and maturing spiritually.
