St. John's Church of Lovi is a small non-denominational church in Cranberry Township, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh located roughly 20 miles north of the city. Until recently, we were a part of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations. While we are moving away from formal association with the Lutheran denomination, we still choose to adhere to a traditional, liturgical service.
One of our core values at St. John's is that we consider ourselves a "Back to Basics Community." What we mean by this is that we believe that it is the simple gospel of Jesus Christ that changes the world, and that the church is strongest when it unifies people from a variety of backgrounds. That being said, we are a church that is committed to a theologically conservative view of Scripture and practice. We are firmly evangelical, affirming the inerrancy of the Bible and the exclusivity of Christ as our only hope for salvation. Our full statement of faith is located on our website.
We are a small church, with an average attendance of 50-60 throughout the year. That being said, we are a church that is strategically located in a growing area of Pittsburgh. In the last ten years, our church has become surrounded on all sides by new housing developments. We recognize that these developments are opportunities for the gospel to spread in our area, and we are actively seeking to impact our growing community for the sake of the gospel.
When you come to St. John's, you will find a church that is warm, welcoming, and devoted. While our attendance is not as high as it once was, God has been gracious in blessing us with a large and devoted membership core who are devoted to serving others and prayerful for the local and global church. We hope that you will prayerfully consider joining us for our next chapter!
