First Baptist Church LaPlace Part-Time Worship Leader

First Baptist Church LaPlace is seeking a part-time worship leader who loves the Lord and has a heart for fostering spiritual transformation through worship with our church family. The part-time Worship Leader is a member of the First Baptist Church LaPlace ministerial staff and is under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.

The part-time Worship Leader is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the Worship Ministry. He/She is highly relational with a heart to provide spiritual development of the Worship Ministry at First Baptist Church LaPlace. He/She should be a collaborator who leads the worship portion of the service by leading volunteers and others, nurturing spiritual growth, and organizing special services/events. He/She is expected to contribute to the ministerial staff through fellowship, dedication, cooperation, encouragement, and prayer support as we serve Christ together at First Baptist Church LaPlace.

Essential Responsibilities:

·     Lead the congregation and direct the Worship Ministry.

·     The ability to learn and implement best practices in Worship Arts.

·     Select music that corresponds with and enhances the Pastor’s sermon.

·     Plan Sunday Services, organize and lead special emphasis, such as Easter and Christmas.

·     Supervise and direct the accompanists.

·     Supervise and direct the Worship Team including but not limited to media, technology, audio, video, and lighting team members.

·     Recruit, develop, and empower leaders within the Worship Ministry.

·     Develop and manage the annual worship ministry budget with accountability and operates within the appropriate processes.

·     Perform any other ministerial functions assigned by the Senior Pastor.

·     Experience and knowledge in using church pre-designated (Pro-Presenter/ other designated software) for our Worship Gathering. (Or a willingness to learn)

·     Experience and knowledge in using church pre-designated (Planning Center Services) to lead our Worship Teams and plan the weekly worship gatherings. (Or a willingness to learn)

·     Models an evangelistic lifestyle.

·     Honest and trustworthy.

·     Maintains confidentiality.

·     Supports the fellow staff as a team player.

·     Actively participates and becomes part of the First Baptist LaPlace family.

Hours and Compensation:

·     This is a part-time position requiring 20-25 hours a week.

-This person is expected to work 5 hours on Sunday from 7am-12pm, 2-hours for Business meetings, from 4pm-8pm for staff meeting and First Baptist Church LaPlace Midweek programming.

-Each staff member has the flexibility to organize their remaining hours with the approval of the Senior Pastor to best meet their personal needs and the needs of the ministry.

·     This position is paid $22,000.00 annually before taxes with a bi-weekly pay period to align with church policies.

·     This position is eligible to apply for the NOBTS Caskey Scholarship (full tuition up to 8,000 annually) for undergraduate or master’s study at NOBTS.
