The Chapel is a vibrant church in a uniquely cultural, metropolitan part of the Northeast that has a rich history of community involvement, worship expression, and sound Biblical teaching with an evangelical focus.
The origins of The Chapel date back to 1931. The church grew from occupying a small vacant chapel on Jacksonville Road, to now operating out of seven ministry buildings across their campus. Building on this rich heritage, The Chapel is now a growing multi-generational church living out its mission to transform people into Christ- followers who love God, love people, and serve the world.
Senior Pastor Dave Gustavsen is a born and raised ‘Jersey boy’ and grew up in the church. His affinity with the people of The Chapel and their love and respect for him are obvious. Dave is well educated and his relaxed and conversational (yet challenging) teaching style and strategic leadership skills have served The Chapel well. Their proven record of community involvement and effective vision casting are setting the stage for the next exciting season of ministry. A passion for kingdom building through worldwide church development initiatives and missions, both local and overseas, overflow into the life of the church.
